Overview
Bonnier Publishing was a niche travel and sports-focused magazine publisher.

Challenge
Develop innovative and compelling design to solidify water sports titles as top in market to increase readership and advertising.

Goal
Created boundary-pushing design with typography, layout and color for fledgling WakeBoarding Magazine innovating sequence-image merger techniques. Introduced bold styling to Boating Life Magazine and guided freelance photographers to experiment with unique angles, lighting and composition.

Results
WakeBoarding Magazine more than tripled readership in 3 years, gained a dozen sought-after advertisers with California Surf/Skate/Snow brands, developed franchise editions in Japan and became most-profitable title at Bonnier. Boating Life Magazine increased subscribers by 43% in first two years.
